TEMPORARY TRUCK BAN

Starting October 14, 2024, a temporary ban is imposed on all trucks and heavy vehicles from traversing the Ninoy Aquino Bridge in Tarlac City from 6:00AM to 7:00PM. The temporary ban covers the following motor vehicles, whether loaded or empty: a. Cargo/Delivery trucks, six wheelers or more, and weighing more than 4,500 kg; b. Fuel and LPG tankers; c. Cement bulk carriers; d. Big passenger buses; and e. Other motor vehicles classified by the Land Transportation Office as heavy vehicles. The following vehicles shall be exempt from the temporary ban: a. Emergency vehicles (such as fire tracks) in times of emergencies; b. Government trucks and heavy equipment when needed in government infrastructure projects; c. Vehicles and equipment of public utility companies when conducting emergency repair works; and d. Vehicles granted special permits from the Office of the City Mayor. This is pursuant to Executive Order No. 047 which imposes a temporary truck ban is to make way for the conduct of a comprehensive traffic study and to implement experimental rerouting to address the heavy traffic congestion in the said area.

As of 7:15 AM on Tuesday, PAGASA reported that moderate to heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds are expected over Metro Manila, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Tarlac, Pampanga, and Bulacan within the next two hours. According to the weather bureau, the above conditions are being experienced in Quezon, Cavite, Zambales, and Bataan which may persist within two hours and may affect nearby areas.
