A total of 103.8 kilos of pork hot meat or “Botcha” was confiscated at the City Uptown Market at 3:40 am yesterday, September 20.
The City Veterinary Office, headed by Dr. Julieta Parairo, along with the joint personnel of the Tarlac City PNP Police Community Precinct 2, led by PSI Joy P. Turaray, and representatives from the Paliparan Management, led by Fernando Reyes, conducted the said operation which resulted in the arrest of the suspects and the recovery of the botcha before consumers swarmed the market.
The suspects apprehended in the operation are in violation of RA 9296 as amended by RA 10536 or “The Meat Inspection Code of the Philippines."
The seized “hot meat” will be burned and disposed of properly.

Consumers are encouraged to be vigilant in checking the condition of the meat to determine if it is safe and to always look for the meat inspection certificate of the stall owners.
